On Thursday morning, some fourteen hundred travelers were evacuated from three stranded trains on the route between Hoofddorp and Leiden. On the track between the two stations, the overhead contact line has been damaged for an unknown reason.

The train traffic between Leiden Central and The Hague Central is currently disrupted due to the stranded trains and the defective overhead line. This lasts until a minimum of 1.30 pm, reports the Dutch Railways.

ProRail is currently on site to repair the broken overhead line. It is not known how long this repair will take. The stranded trains are rushed away.

Travelers between The Hague and Schiphol must travel on Thursday via Utrecht Centraal. The delay can be up to sixty minutes.
