It was at 06 am on Wednesday morning that the water was cut off to several households in Onsala. The reason was that a feed line had broken.
- It was a so-called supply line, one of the slightly larger lines, which had broken. It was 300 meters south of Onsala center, along Mariedalsvägen, says Adam Folcker, communicator at Kungsbacka Municipality.
To top it off, pumps in one of the water towers had also stopped, and the pressure was dropping. Together, the two problems caused many households to become waterless, from Onsala center down to Gottskär and in the surrounding area. It is unclear exactly how many people were affected.
- There were quite a few who were left without water. At present, two properties lack water, says Adam Folcker.
Many who skipped the morning shower then?
- It may have been. If they were not home by 8 o'clock, then most of them would be back.
By the time of 08, repairmen had switched and started the pumps, says Adam Folcker. But work on the leak will continue during Wednesday.
- Sometimes you don't know how long it takes to cook something like this. We believe we can cope with the leak during the day.
At 11 o'clock on Wednesday, only two properties still lacked water.
- If they need water during the day, we put out a water tank nearby.
