“There is no case against Poroshenko,” Golovan said at a briefing broadcast by the Ukrainian Fifth Channel.

The lawyer noted that "there are cases in which Poroshenko is a witness, and there are cases in which he has no status at all."

He also criticized the use by representatives of law enforcement agencies regarding his client's wording “defendant” in criminal cases.

According to him, “this once again characterizes not very well” the law enforcement system of the country.

On October 3, the former Ukrainian leader did not appear for interrogation at the State Security Bureau, where he was called as a witness in the case of organizing an illegal border crossing of Ukraine.
