The Plenary Session of the Constitutional Court unanimously agreed on Wednesday to warn the president of the Generalitat and the members of the Government of the criminal consequences of continuing to breach previous decisions of the court on the right to self-determination. This is the first time that the Constitutional issues a warning of this kind to Quim Torra. In his day he did it with former President Carles Puigdemont.

The two orders of the TC admit to processing two incidents of sentence execution presented by the Government and suspend certain paragraphs of Resolution 546 / XII approved by the Parliament on September 26 on the "general political orientation of the Government", which are suspended . In said resolution, the Parliament again declares to exercise specifically the right of self-determination and civil and institutional disobedience.

The brief of the State Advocacy - acting on behalf of the Government - requested that on this occasion the requirement not to continue along that path be extended to the Government and not only to the Parliamentary Board, as had happened with the previous resolutions of the Autonomous chamber also challenged.

The resolution of the TC agrees "to require the President of the Parliament of Catalonia, the other members of the Bureau of the Parliament and the Secretary General of the Parliament of Catalonia, as well as the President of the Generalitat of Catalonia and other members of the Governing Council, to its obligation to refrain from carrying out any actions aimed at complying with the contested sections and paragraphs of Resolution 546 / XII of the Parliament of Catalonia, as well as its duty to prevent or paralyze any initiative, legal or material, that directly or indirectly entails ignore or circumvent the ruling of the Constitutional Court 136/2018 ".
