Wales wants to offer "another fifteen days" with coach Warren Gatland, who will leave his post after the World Cup in Japan, beating France in the quarterfinals Sunday, said Wednesday the coach of the Neil Jenkins individual technique.

"+ Gats + is not only an incredible coach, he's also an incredible person, he brings so much to his environment," said the coach of skills at the Beppu Hotel on Kyushu's southern island, where le XV du Poireau prepares the big date.

Gatland saw his last adventure at the head of the Welsh he led for 12 years and guided to 3 tournaments of six nations haloed Grand Slam (2008, 2012, 2019). The New Zealander will then return to his country to train the Chiefs until 2023.

"It would be incredibly sad to see him go" Sunday in case of failure, said Jenkins. "It would be nice to give another two weeks to Japan, for him and for everyone," added the former opener of the selection (1991-2002).

The winning team will be assured to stay two more weeks in the metropolis of Tokyo, where will be the semi-finals, the final and the match for the 3rd place.

Wales never reached a World Cup final, unlike France, which failed three times on the last step (1987, 1999, 2011). In 2011, the Blues won narrowly (9-8) against the Dragons in the semifinals.
