The North Korean propaganda today praised the figure of the North Korean leader, Kim Jong-un, by publishing some photos of marked epic tone in which he appears riding the skirts of Mount Paektu, a place considered sacred in the regime's ideology.

"He climbed the mountain riding a white horse over the first snows," is indicated in the text that accompanies Kim's eight snapshots, published by the KCNA news agency.

In the text it is added that Kim's equestrian ride "is a major event in the history of the Korean revolution" and that, during his ascension, the marshal "recalled with deep emotion the path of arduous struggle in pursuit of the great cause of building the most powerful country . "

Experts point out that his three previous solo visits to the famous mountain (located in the border area with China in the northeast of the country) preceded important decisions.

His previous visit was in December 2017, just before the regime chose to take a diplomatic turn in its relations with South Korea and the US.

Those of November 2014 and February 2013 preceded, respectively, the end of the three-year period of mourning declared by the death of Kim's father and former leader, Kim Jong-il, and the execution of his political uncle and "number two "of the regime, Jang Song-thaek.

KCNA also posted photos and information of a visit from Kim, in the company of his sister Kim Yo-jong among other regime charges, to the nearby town of Samjiyon, where a tourist area is being built.

During the visit, Kim condemned US sanctions at a time marked by the persistent blockade of the negotiations between Pionyang and Washingto on denuclearization.

"Every time the enemies try to strangle us with a chain of pressure, we must pave the way with our own effort to continue living decently under the banner of the great spirit of self-reliance," Kim said, according to KCNA.

Kim's visits come shortly after talks with the US have run into a new wall: Pionyang has accused Washington of not modifying its position on disarmament and demanding steps to the regime without offering relief from sanctions or security guarantees in meetings held just over 10 days ago in Stockholm.

North Korea has given the dialogue as interrupted and said that in principle it does not plan to meet again in the Swedish capital in the next few days as the US had proposed.
