Permanent Representative of Russia to the UN Vasily Nebenzya said that Turkey assured the Russian side that it would respect the territorial integrity of Syria.

It is reported by RIA Novosti.

According to him, Russian President Vladimir Putin maintains a dialogue with Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Turkey’s military operation in Syria.

“The Turkish side tells us that they will respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria and the ultimate goal will be to ensure that the Syrian territory is sovereign and integral,” he said.

Earlier, Nebenzya called the operation of Turkey in the SAR a consequence of the actions of the international coalition.

On October 9, Turkey launched the “Source of Peace” military operation in northeast Syria. On the same day, the Turkish army launched the ground part of the military operation.
