The Minister of State and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (ADFEC), Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, today announced the launch of Mohammed Bin Zayed University for Artificial Intelligence as the first university in the world for graduate studies specialized in research in artificial intelligence. The university aims to enable students, companies and governments to develop and harness AI applications. In the service of mankind, Mohammed bin Zayed University for Artificial Intelligence offers master's and doctoral programs in machine learning, computer vision sciences, and natural language processing sciences.

HE Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of State and Chairman of the Board of Trustees, said: “Mohammed bin Zayed University for Artificial Intelligence is inviting an open call from Abu Dhabi to the world to work together to unleash the potential of the innovative technology of artificial intelligence, which has already begun to change many aspects of our lives. “Investing in the opportunities and abilities of AI will contribute to the empowerment and development of mankind and encourage the fertile human imagination to explore opportunities and implement solutions that can improve the quality of life.”

“This is where Mohammed bin Zayed University for Artificial Intelligence (UAU) is set up, which will prepare and empower innovation leaders who are able to move towards a new era supported by artificial intelligence.”

The machine learning science program, which will be provided by the university, includes the scientific study of algorithms, statistical models used by computer systems to accomplish a specific task effectively without the use of explicit instructions, and machine learning is widely used in business applications such as business studies and analysis, and effective research online Robots, smart cities, understand human genes.

This program aims to simulate the amazing abilities of the visual cortex in the human brain using automated vision algorithms, and computer vision studies how the image is formed, the geometry of three-dimensional objects, and precise tasks. Such as distinguishing, monitoring and tracking objects, segmenting the image, and distinguishing actions.

The Natural Language Processing program focuses on the processing and development of systems that allow computers to communicate with individuals using spoken languages. Natural language generation systems transform information from databases into a human language that is readable or audible and vice versa. , Interactive voice response, automatic translators and digital personal assistants, such as Siri, Cortana, Alexa, interactive chat robots, and intelligent word processors.

Acting Rector, Mr. Michael Brady, confirmed that one of the most significant contributions that will be made by Mohammed bin Zayed University to artificial intelligence is the building of outstanding human resources with the skills, knowledge and ability to think independently to create entirely new sectors.

The Dean of the Institute of Multidisciplinary Teachers at Tsinghua University, Professor Andrew Chi-Chih Yao, said that the methodology of the Mohammed Bin Zayed University for Artificial Intelligence, based on close cooperation with various sectors, where devoted much of its focus to train human cadres capable of a career Successful benefits all sectors.
