The lowest numbers in the municipality have the F-9 school Österslättskolan, according to Statistics Sweden's statistics. 40.8 percent of all ninth graders fail to meet the knowledge requirements set in all subjects.

"It is a warning signal to us that we must work more," says the principal of the Baltic School, Salim Saab.

Salim Saab explains that the figure may be due to the school receiving new arrivals who have had to work more with the Swedish language. But he also believes that the school has problems with students who do not care about studies.

Have put in summer school

The school has six different classes in grade nine. Of these students, 26.5 percent are not eligible for high school when they graduate from high school.

- Our mentor went out and told us a few months ago, so it's very boring, says student Sixten Graham.

In order for the school to succeed in reversing the negative trend, the school has introduced summer school and special classes in addition to the usual schedule for students who need to complete.

- We have what is called "one to one" teaching, which is individual teaching with a student and a teacher, explains the principal.
