According to RIA Novosti, Volodin met with the Chairman of the Council of Cantons of the Federal Assembly of Switzerland, Jean-René Fournier.

“Of course, it would be right for the Georgian president to apologize as soon as possible. A strong person will always do that - if he made a mistake or made a rash step, said something on his emotions, ”the State Duma speaker said during the meeting.

He also said that the Russian side considers it wrong to restore air links between the two countries until counter steps are taken from Georgia.

On July 8, a decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin entered into force, which temporarily banned flights with Georgia.
