- We have seen that the existing preschool classrooms that we have today need to be renovated, so whatever we do it costs money and we see a coordinating gain to collect them under one roof, says Peter Munter (S), chairman of children, education and culture committee.
The preschools Vallmon and Hammaren and the department Bryggan from Sjögården preschool are being moved. A total of six departments and in the new preschool there will be eight departments.
- The two additional departments are like an accordion according to the structure of the population. In addition, we can review the child groups so that they become smaller, says Lena Furén, Head of Children and Education.
First, the municipal council, then the municipal councilThe plans for the redevelopment have so far only applied to the premises. Following the decision of the municipal council, the matter will proceed to the decision of the municipal council. Only after that decision can one go further in terms of staff.
- Those who work at the preschools will of course be offered to accompany the new one and if it is a yes in the municipal council we will make a schedule and an activity plan when we will work directly with the staff, says Lena Furén.
If the city council decides to follow the municipal council on the matter, Peter Munter hopes for a quick process.
- I hope the construction will start at the turn of the year, he says.
