According to the plans, the Antnäs School would be expanded and the Ersnäs School and the Klöverträskksan school would be closed - in the first stage. But it turned out that it was not possible because it would be too expensive.

"No schedule"

So uncertainty in the calculations of school transfers and uncertainty in the general price picture causes the administration to withdraw the case. Instead, the municipality's various administrations should look for coordination gains with regard to the schools in the Sor villages.

- We need a bigger holistic approach, as we are unable to find the required efficiency improvements right now. In the long term, we may want to concentrate the schools for the Antnäs School, but the municipality is also reducing the investments and it is very difficult to say any timetable for a common school for the sororities, says school principal Maarit Enbuske.

She believes it will take at least two years to rebuild and rebuild at the Antnäs School.

"And we haven't even arrived at a decision, so it will probably be a while before we build it," she says.

"I'm happy"

But among employees and parents, the non-decision is a good decision.

- Right now I'm happy. I think the schools in Sörbyarna are saved at least a few years ahead and we will see what happens next, but we are doing well here in Ersnäs. It is a good environment with a nice school yard, says preschool teacher Katarina Fredriksson.

What would you say to the politicians?

- They have to count properly from the beginning. What costs and what does not cost, she says.

Fredrik Hjälte, a parent at Måttsundsskolan, is also pleased with the development.

- It feels really positive that we have now got some breathing room when we can show how important schools are to us in the southern villages, but the closure threat remains as long as the project "The school of the future" remains, he says.
