Although the dairy was profitable, Arla chose to close down production in Boxholm and move it to Östersund. Therefore, the message came that Arla would close down the dairy in Boxholm as a surprise.

- I didn't know anything. It came as a shock, says Bengt-Åke Bengtsson.

December 12 is the last production day at the resort.

- A lot of knowledge is disappearing. Those who work there are loyal and knowledgeable and now it runs out in the sand. I think that's a shame.

"It was not me"

In the spring and summer, an anonymous secret buyer stepped in and wanted to take over the dairy. Many people have thought that it was Bengt-Åke Bengtsson who wanted to buy back the dairy something he is now demanding.

- I have met many who have believed it, but it was not me, says Bengt-Åke Bengtsson with a smile.

Industrial man with many irons in the fire

Bengt-Åke Bengtsson is an industrial man who despite his 82 years has many iron in the fire. He has for many years been the owner and leader of Boxholms AB. He still owns several companies.

He lives in Boxholm where he now sees the production of the cheese disappear to Östersund.

- I travel a lot and many people know the landmark Boxholm cheese. It is tragic that it is now disappearing. I don't like when something that is supposed to be locally produced in a particular area moves to another place. If Boxholmsost is to be made in Östersund, it is not locally produced.
