Vattholma has a long period of prohibition against watering. Only recently has Uppsala municipality released the ban, and many Vattholmabor are frustrated with the situation.
In a letter to the municipal company Uppsala water, hundreds of Vattholmabor are now demanding investments for a better water supply. The letter expresses anger that the residents pay the same tariff as other municipal residents - despite the fact that much of the investment is made in Uppsala urban area.
- The groundwater is low, but there is no reason why we should not have as good water supply as the other municipalities, says Vattholmabon Åke Clason, who hopes the letter will lead to new wells in the area.
Want a dialogueUppsala Water believes that investments are being made in the outer areas as well.
- But most people live in Uppsala, so there will be more investments there, says Bertil Lustig, VA manager.
He points out that Uppsala water would like to have a dialogue with the Vattholmaborna.
- We are grateful for comments. But at the same time, one must also be able to emphasize that drinking water is not enough to water the lawns.
