“This is an absolutely correct conclusion. We have long said that Russia is a large, self-sufficient country, and the sanctions regime cannot cause significant damage to our economy, much less force us to neglect our interests in international politics and somehow change our course, ”the politician said.

He emphasized that the European economy has suffered substantially because of the decline in trade between the EU countries and Russia.

“For Europe, the most damage is because the EU countries have always been major economic partners for us. This primarily concerned the supply of resources and the purchase of necessary goods from Europe, ”Morozov said.

According to the parliamentarian, representatives of EU countries are beginning to understand the need to revise the anti-Russian sanctions policy.

“Of course, even European politicians, based on our bilateral contacts, are interested in removing restrictive measures as soon as possible and returning to normal, full-fledged cooperation,” Morozov added.

He also noted that a return to a “full partnership” is difficult due to US pressure on EU countries.

Earlier, German media published a study on the economic losses of the EU from anti-Russian sanctions.
