“For joint economic activities, we are now agreeing on the dates of these consultations and will announce them in the near future,” TASS quoted him as saying.

Morgulov noted that consultations should be held “in order” in Moscow.

“I think this is November,” said the deputy foreign minister, answering a question about the timing of consultations.

He also said that the Russian side will count on the visit of Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi to Russia before the end of 2019.

“We hope that this visit will take place before the end of this year,” he said.

In September, the Russian Foreign Ministry reported that they were not expecting a breakthrough on a peace treaty with Japan.
