The Fujairah Misdemeanor Court has heard the case of two Gulf men accused of drug abuse and possession, and the injury of a friend who was with them, before he died of overdose in a hotel apartment.

Asked by the tribunal, the first accused of the charge against him, he denied that he had injured their deceased friend, while admitting he used drugs in the same apartment, demanding that he be treated for addiction in a clinic.

The second defendant denied all the charges against him, pointing out that the deceased was a relative and was not present with him in the hotel apartments in the meantime.

The lawyer assigned to the defense of the second defendant filed defenses requesting the acquittal of his client, for the absence of the elements of the crime in the case papers for the absence of crime and physical evidence, as there is no evidence of assault on the deceased man, and the examination conducted by the security authorities during the arrest of his client confirms that he did not use drugs. He was not in the apartment during the arrest of the first accused in the company of the other who died in an overdose, wondering: «How to charge his client on the confessions of the first defendant to the police and the President's goal to pay the charges against him and attach them to the second defendant».

The court decided to postpone the case, to rule in a hearing next week.
