Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said on Monday that Iran's relations with the United Arab Emirates have improved and expressed his country's readiness for dialogue with Saudi Arabia and called on Turkey to stop its military operation in northeastern Syria.

Rowhani said in his annual press conference in Tehran that Iran and the UAE have exchanged delegations and visits recently, noting that UAE delegations and officials have visited Iran recently, stressing that relations between the two countries are heading for further improvement.

Regarding the tension between Iran and Saudi Arabia, the Iranian president said that his country is ready for serious dialogue with countries such as Saudi Arabia to solve the problems of the region, adding that resolving the crisis in Yemen will push forward any Iranian-Saudi dialogue, and that the possibility of ending the war on Yemen is now closer than ever Gone.

Speaking about the efforts of Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan to resolve regional issues, including the dispute between Iran and Saudi Arabia and the Yemen war, saying that Khan will carry Iran's views to Saudi Arabia after his recent visit to Tehran.

Khan visited Tehran yesterday and said he was taking a special initiative to ease tensions between Iran and Saudi Arabia, denying that his initiative was a mediation between the two countries. Khan is scheduled to visit Riyadh on Tuesday.

An Iranian official confirmed earlier that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman had requested - via Pakistan - a dialogue with Iran.

As for the targeting of an Iranian oil tanker in the Red Sea, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said the government of an unnamed country was behind the operation, which Saudi Arabia has denied responsibility for.

Turkish operation

The Iranian president said that his country understands Turkey's security concerns, but said it does not accept the way Ankara behaves in northern Syria, adding that Tehran hopes that Turkey will stop its operation in northern Syria and focus on supporting the fight against terrorism and elections.

In this regard, he said he assured his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Adogan that the best option to deal with Turkey's concerns is the deployment of the Syrian army on the border.

Rouhani said he hoped the Turkish intervention in northern Syria would end with the departure of the Americans, but made clear that the Americans had not yet left from there, and that this was not good.

On the other hand, the Iranian president said that talks with the United States will be possible only if they return to the nuclear agreement and lifted sanctions on his country.
