The ultra-conservative PiS, in power for four years, largely won the parliamentary elections on Sunday, collecting 43.6% of the vote, according to polls out of the polls. They should keep their absolute majority in Parliament

With more than 7 million votes, the PiS, Law and Justice, has the highest score in its history. " I think it's the biggest popular success since the end of communism. Our result is even better than it was four years ago. This means that our social policy and our economic results are very good. And that we have growth that benefits everyone , "said Jerzy Kwiecynski, Minister of Economic Development.

Unemployment is at its lowest, at 5%. Growth is very high and the PiS prides itself on redistributing wealth, with its family allowance program for all. With a strong participation of 61%, ten points more than in the last elections, in 2015, the PiS interprets this election as a plebiscite and an encouragement to continue the reforms carried out since 4 years.

" For me, we have two very important measures. Tax exemption for children under 26, and family allowances. I want to start a family and it will help me, "says Mateusz Lewicki, a young party activist.

The opposition far behind

With the pursuit of social programs, and " good change ", the slogan of previous elections, PiS leader Jaroslaw Kaczynski is drawing the line for the next four years. " Poland has yet to change, for the better. Our main strength is credibility, and we need to keep it. What we do is good, realistic, and responsible, "he says.

Allusion to the opposition, which would never have kept its campaign promises according to many Poles. The main opposition party, the Civic Platform, is relegated far behind with 27.4% of the vote. The left, with 12.4% of the vote, returned to Parliament after disappearing since 2015. The opposition can already turn to the presidential election in the spring to try to counterbalance the overwhelming victory of the PiS in Parliament.
