Ecuador’s opposition considers impeachment of government

The Ecuadorian Civil Revolutionary Movement is considering impeaching the government due to riots in protests in the country, said Legislative Member Franklin Samaniego.

“We will analyze the actions of the president and ministers in the process of suppressing the suppression of protests. The Constitution of the Republic determines the possibility of oversight of authorities and even the possibility of impeachment, ”RIA Novosti quoted the MP as saying.

According to him, the party intends to act within the framework of the law and in accordance with the country's Constitution.

Earlier, the leader of Ecuador, Lenin Moreno, promised that the decree that provoked the protests would be revoked in the near future.

Authorities and protesters entered into an agreement to end protests in Ecuador.

On October 3, a state of emergency was declared in the country amid protests over the adoption of economic measures by the government.
