Ras Al Khaimah's Misdemeanor Court yesterday began the trial of four young men of Gulf and Arab nationalities accused in two separate cases of using and possessing narcotic drugs using injections.The defendants asked the court to place them in an addiction treatment center instead of imprisonment in order to ensure that they do not return to addiction. one more time.

In the first case, the Public Prosecutor charged the first accused of using crystal narcotics, possession of narcotic drugs, driving a vehicle under the influence of drugs, confessing the first and third charges, and denying the possession of narcotic drugs.

He said that the police found in his vehicle substances used in the use of drugs, including injections, but they did not find any narcotic substances in his vehicle, pointing out that the injection found by the police was empty of drugs, pointing out that it was the first time he took the substances Narcotic. He demanded that the court be compassionate and that he be placed in an addiction treatment center.

The Public Prosecution accused the second accused of using the drug crystal, and confessed to the charge against him, asking the court to send him to a treatment center for addiction, adding that he had never been arrested in similar cases.

In the details of the second case, the court considered the case of suspects from a Gulf state for the use of psychotropic substances (crystal substance), possession of a narcotic syringe, and the prosecution indictment said that the defendants had used narcotic crystal substance, and obtained an injection containing narcotic.

The first defendant in the case confessed before the court on charges of abuse of psychotropic substances without a prescription, and admitted possession of an injection of crystal anesthetic, asking the court to place him in an addiction treatment center instead of imprisonment.

He said that «the prison destroyed me psychologically, and that treatment helps me not to return to addiction again».

For his part, the second defendant denied the charges against him, and reported that the drug injection found in his vehicle was empty of drugs.

He sought treatment from addiction instead of imprisonment, so that he would not lose his job and his children.
