The lack of health care material applies in five health care regions, Örebro, Uppsala, Sörmland, Dalarna and Västmanland. Örebro is one of four regions that have gone up in staff positions, and this still applies.

- There is no forecast for when we will get out of it, we work in staff position for as long as needed, says Claes-Mårten Ingberg, chief medical officer at USÖ.

Hope for more within 24h

There they received deliveries on Friday evening and hope that there will be another within the next 24 hours.

- We work on two levels. Intensive work is underway within the supply unit for goods to arrive. Then we work within the healthcare system to make sure that the material ends up in the right place.

- We also work to ensure that no patient injuries occur. That is our main goal, says Claes-Mårten Ingberg.

Uncertain when stabilized

Petter Karlsson, employee of the Uppsala region and head of product supply in the regions in question, also believes that the situation remains strained. He says that the distributor, the pharmacy service, is working full time for the material to be delivered to the hospitals.

- They work around the clock and have extra resources inside. They really make an effort to get it.

The forecast is that deliveries will stabilize at the beginning of next week, but it certainly is not. The National Board of Health and Welfare also announces that they will have an extra-ordinary collaboration conference with the affected regions on Monday.

Beats different hard

Some of the regions have had to cancel care and at the Academic Hospital, there are operating stops on all planned outpatient care and planned operations. In Örebro, however, care has not been affected for the patients.

- We have not set up any operations, but are running it at our three hospitals unchanged, says Claes-Mårten Ingberg.
