13 October 2019A 15-year-old girl was attacked and scarred in the face with a knife by a man for no apparent reason, around midnight on Saturday, in the center of Varese. As it turned out, he was waiting with one of his mates for one of his friends after spending the evening downtown with his friends. The news, released today by the same child on social media, was confirmed by the Varese Police Chief, Giovanni Pepè.

The girl was waiting to return home with her friend when a stranger, riding a bicycle, after going past them, came back and hurled himself at the fifteen-year-old girl, thrusting a knife through her face and an arm.

The man, described in his fifties, with long hair and a scar on his face, without apparent reason would have pulled the knife out of his pocket and shouted "I'll kill you", to then hurt the girl. Her friend instead managed to escape. The rescue workers of the 118 and the State Police intervened on the spot and are now investigating the incident.

When the fifteen-year-old and her friend came face to face with the aggressor, the former did not have the readiness to escape, while the latter did. "Escape" the schoolmate screamed as she ran to an open bar, but she stood still, paralyzed by fear, while the 50-year-old attacked her with a serrated knife. Thanks to the alarm launched by her friend, the help came immediately and the girl was taken to the hospital, where she was treated with different stitches. Now the doctors will evaluate whether to operate on the face to prevent a possible permanent disfigurement.
