The second career of Tatiana Golovin, eleven years after her retirement, begins with a defeat: in the first round of qualifications of the tournament of Luxembourg, the French underwent the law of the Slovenian Kaja Juvan in two sets (6-3, 6-1 ).

Recipient of an invitation from the organizers, the former N.12 world played in the Grand Duchy its first sets since the announcement of his return to competition, during the first half of September.

But she will not repeat her performance of 2004 and 2007 in the Grand Duchy, when she reached the quarter-finals of the tournament: it fell against the 18-year-old Slovenian Kaja Juvan, seeded N.5 qualifications and World 134th, in 1:15 min.

Quarter-finalist of the US Open in 2006, Golovin won two WTA titles during his first career (Amelia Island and Portoroz in 2007) before taking an early retirement in May 2008.

Shortly before the announcement of her return, the Belgian Kim Clijsters also announced that she would return to the competition. The date of his return is not yet known.
