Berlin (dpa) - The Federal Association of food inspectors in Germany has demanded a higher number of inspectors in the authorities. "We are calling for more staff to carry out official food surveillance effectively and comprehensively," said Maik Maschke, deputy federal chairman of the association, dpa. The control numbers were last dropped every year. Currently, several cases of problematic foods are making headlines: germ-laden sausages and milk that may be contaminated with harmful bacteria.
