In a speech on Saturday October 12 to his activists and the press, the opponent and former presidential candidate Jean Ping again returned to the health of the head of state Ali Bongo. He reiterated that the president is no longer, according to him, able to govern the country. It has been a year since Ali Bongo suffered a stroke.

Jean Ping is adamant, according to him, President Ali Bongo is no longer able to ensure power. To the point, he adds " to serve as a puppet to new usurpers who deliver the country at auction ."

This is a virulent attack on the president's chief of staff, Brice Laccruche Alihanga, whom he calls the mastermind of the usurpation. Jean Ping did not go dead hand while this close collaborator of the head of the State has risen in recent months.

Brice Laccruche Alihanga also made a Republican tour on behalf of President Bongo, which ended last weekend. A first in history. Never before has a person other than the Gabonese president made this traditional tour, which makes some Gabonese say that he is positioning himself to succeed the head of state.

Contacted, the presidency and the ruling party did not want to react to his accusations in the immediate future, but said they were preparing an answer in the coming days.

Recall that President Ali Bongo made a surprise appearance at the closing meeting of the Republican tour by his chief of staff last week. For the first time since his stroke, he had improvised a short speech in front of his supporters.
