The number of victims of the tragedy at the Kerch Polytechnic College increased to 21 people. This was the acting director of the school Denis Kolesnik told RIA Novosti. According to him, after prolonged treatment, one of the injured teachers died.

“We recently had a colleague, the last of the victims, was treated for a long time - Olga Nikolaevna Grischenko ... She underwent more than one operation. Still, she was already over 60 years old. Unfortunately, I did not get out, ”said Kolesnik.

He noted that for many years Grishchenko worked in college, teaching economic disciplines. The funeral of the teacher was held this summer.

Recall that on October 17, 2018, a fourth-year student at the Polytechnic College in Kerch, Vladislav Roslyakov, set off an explosion and opened fire on people in the building of the educational institution. As a result of the incident, 20 people died, including 15 students, including six minors, and five employees of the educational institution. In addition, at least 43 people were hospitalized in medical facilities, including Olga Grishchenko, however, no less than 50 injured were reported in total.

In this case, the attacker himself committed suicide. As the official representative of the Investigative Committee of Russia Svetlana Petrenko reported, his body was found in the college library on the second floor. On the fact of the tragedy, the department opened a criminal case under part 2 of art. 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (the killing of two or more persons by a generally dangerous method).

However, it became known that the mother of Vladislav Roslyakov changed his name and moved.

“She changed her last name to a girl’s name, moved out of that apartment, she doesn’t say where (she lives now. - RT ). We don’t go there, ”RIA Novosti quoted Galina Nikitichna, the grandmother of Roslyakov.

In addition, it became known that the body of the offender was cremated in Simferopol at the end of investigative actions.

After the tragedy, a RT source in the Ministry of Education of Crimea reported that the criminal’s mother worked as a nurse in the cancer center, and “she was also carried away by the teachings of Jehovah's Witnesses * several years ago.”

We add that on the first anniversary of the tragic incident - on Thursday, October 17 - a minute of silence will pass in all institutions and at all enterprises of Kerch. The funeral event is scheduled for 09:00 Moscow time. In addition, flowers will be laid on the Lenin Square at the improvised memorial; funeral services will be held in city churches and mosques.

After an emergency at the Kerch Polytechnic College, the Crimean authorities proposed to transfer the protection of educational institutions to the Rosguard. In August, a second relevant proposal was sent to the government.

As noted on October 11, First Deputy Minister of Education of the Russian Federation Pavel Zenkovich, the initiative requires more detailed study. According to him, while the implementation of such a proposal is unlikely.

“This issue needs to be discussed by all of us together (with the Russian Guard. - RT ). But we are constantly thinking about how we can protect our educational organizations from threats related to the terrorist threat and from threats associated, unfortunately, with an emergency (similar to what happened. - RT ) in Kerch, ”he quotes Zenkovich TASS.

He also believes that turning “a school into a fortress” is not worth it, but “preventive preventive work” should be done.

A year ago, at this point, the Commissioner for Children's Rights under the President of the Russian Federation, Anna Kuznetsova. In an interview with RT, she stated that one of the reasons for the tragedy at the Kerch college was not enough good work with dysfunctional children in Russia.

“No matter how we turn schools into bunkers, the main thing is the alienation of the teenager, the alienation of the child, his loneliness, into which he falls. As time passed, no one noticed. The sensitivity of the tools that diagnose childhood dysfunction, today, unfortunately, suffers. New tools are needed, ”she emphasized.
