The remains of the dictator Francisco Franco will leave the Valley of the Fallen in a lax period of time that goes from today until next October 25. The Council of Ministers today approved a new exhumation and burial agreement that establishes this fork and a 48-hour prior period to notify the family. The acting Vice President of the Government, Carmen Calvo, announced it today at the conference after the meeting of the Socialist cabinet, after the Supreme Court has given full legal support to the Executive's claims.
For the Government, he said, it is an "extraordinary satisfaction to close with dignity what was not worthy 40 years later", in reference to the fact that Franco's tomb is in a place where "victims of both sides" are buried.
