Bremen (dpa) - Due to possible diarrheal diseases take the German Milchkontor (DMK), which claims to be the largest German dairy cooperative, and the company Fude + Serrahn one of their products from the market.

The recall published on Friday morning concerns the article "Fresh low-fat milk 1.5% fat" in one-liter pack.

During routine inspections, "individual articles" were found to be contaminated with the bacterium "Aeromonas hydrophila / caviae", the two companies said. This could "lead to health problems such as diarrhea," it said. The supplied trading companies - including Metro, Aldi, Edeka, Rewe and Lidl - reacted promptly, the goods are taken as a precaution from the trade.

According to its own statements, the DMK Group, with around 7,700 employees, processes milk at more than 20 locations, including in Germany and the Netherlands. "As one of the largest suppliers of German food retailers and with a turnover of 5.6 billion euros, the DMK Group is one of Europe's leading companies in the dairy industry," it said.
