“In no case is this talking. Some of our members may express their opinions, disagreements may arise between them, but we are the most effective alliance in history and will remain so, ”RIA Novosti quoted Stoltenberg as saying.

He said that the countries participating in the alliance do not have unity on the situation in Syria, however, Turkey "has the right to concern about its security."

Stoltenberg noted that Ankara “does a lot in the framework of NATO, and its contribution to its activities is substantial.”

“We will continue to support Turkey in providing it with air defense systems,” the Secretary General added.

Earlier, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said that Turkey had informed Stoltenberg about the progress of Operation Source of Peace in Syria.

October 9, Ankara announced the start of the ground part of the military operation "Source of Peace".

Pentagon chief Mark Esper, in a telephone conversation with Turkish Minister of National Defense Hulusi Akar, called for an end to this military operation.
