France's Kristina Mladenovic qualified Thursday for the quarter-finals of the Linz (Austria) tournament by beating Croatian Donna Vekic, 21st in the world, in three sets.
Victorious 3-6, 6-1, 6-2, the French 46th in the WTA standings will meet in the quarterfinals the Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova (35th), who had the German Laura Siegemund, also in three sets (7-6, 2 -6, 6-4).
The other French in the running, Alizé Cornet, had to face in the evening the Latvian Jelena Ostapenko.
