After the football cages, the former goalkeeper Chelsea and Arsenal Petr Cech announced Wednesday to have engaged with the ice hockey club Guildford Phoenix, which evolves into the 4th British division.

"After 20 years as a professional footballer, it's a wonderful experience to be able to play the sport I loved to play and loved to watch as a child," said the 37-year-old Czech who term in his football career last June after a final season in the jersey of Arsenal.

"I hope I can help this young team reach their goals and win as many games as possible when I have the chance to play," continued Cech, who became technical advisor to the Chelsea club after his playing career.

Founded in 2017, Guildford Phoenix is ​​a south London ice hockey club, playing in the UK fourth division.

During his career as a footballer, Cech won four league titles in England, four FA Cups, one Champions League (2012) and the Europa League (2013) with Chelsea where he played from 2004 to 2015.

He then joined Arsenal, club with which he has won another FA Cup before putting away the gloves at the end of last season.
