Steve Wozniak, one of Apple's co-founders, warned that governments would stifle cryptographic growth through strict regulation.

The founder of Apple said in a speech at the Northern Business Forum in Helsinki on Wednesday that he was "very afraid" that with the spread of cryptocurrencies significantly "countries will seek to control, because governments only want their money to control their currency," according to Report from Bloomberg News.

Wozniak added, "We will witness a revolution if it is true to call this sense, and in return there will be organization, and a lot of organization."

According to Bloomberg, Wozniak said he only supports new blockchain solutions, which are improvements from current technologies such as the decentralized ledger system in the network, because he says he is a new way to acquire a stake in something.

Wozniak believes that the way the chain of mass resolves the controversy over who has what, it can not get through the fake transactions as it is now in the traditional method.

Wozniak is a well-known supporter of block-based currencies. In late 2018 he co-founded EQUI Global, a venture capital firm that issues investors a digital currency called EquiToken.

His comments also come as central banks around the world are assessing the impact of cryptocurrencies on financial markets, and advocates are trying to legitimize technology.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg is expected to testify before Congress about the new Libra cryptocurrency initiative.

Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell and President Donald Trump have expressed concern about Facebook's tendency to launch a cryptocurrency.
