Jenny Samuelsson lives in Havås outside Varberg.

- I moved here a year ago and I saw that there was park slide. I knew it was a bad weed, but then I read about it and realized it was much more than a weed, says Jenny Samuelsson.

Strong root system

She works as a gardener herself and sees that the problems with the plant are increasing in Halland. The plant is not poisonous but propagates vigorously, knocking out other vegetation on the site.

The species has an unusually strong root system and can pass through fragile walls, floors and asphalt. It can also find its way into sewage or drainage pipes and destroy them. Which for a long time caused problems in England.

In the clip above Jenny Samuelsson talks about her experiences with the plant and how it can spread.
