Paris Saint-Germain has maintained an impeccable record in the French Handball Championship by winning his sixth victory in six days against Chambéry, 32 to 29, Thursday in Coubertin where he remains undefeated for 50 games in all competitions, a record.

PSG has not seen the defeat in front of its public since a league match on June 8, 2017 against Nantes. Since then, he has won 49 times and made 1 tie in 29 Starligue games, 17 in the Champions League, 3 in the League Cup and 1 in the Coupe de France.

He thus equaled the record set by Montpellier between February 2001 and November 2003 and could beat him on Sunday at the reception of the Slovenes Celje in the Champions League.

In the Championship standings, Paris are leading with two points ahead of Aix and Nantes and three on Montpellier after their difficult success in Chambéry.

The Parisians, still out of injury by Denmark's Mikkel Hansen and Norway's Sander Sagosen, widened the gap by six goals (22-16) at the start of the second period, but Chambéry managed to reignite the suspense by returning to a ten minutes from the end (26-25).

"We are at +6 and we feel that the match is bent, but they push us in our entrenchments. It draws our energy then we could have done differently," regretted PSG goalkeeper Vincent Gerard.

Sweden's Kim Ekdahl of the Rietz was the biggest Paris scorer with eight goals in front of young winger Dylan Nahi (six goals).

With this fourth defeat in six games, Chambéry remains stuck at the bottom of the rankings (11th out of 14), but the game shown to Coubertin can allow him to hope for a quick comeback. The Savoyard club had an excellent season 2018-2019 by winning the Coupe de France and taking third place in the Championship.
