London (dpa) - The police in London have arrested more than 1,000 environmental activists since Monday. About 50 supporters of the environmental protection group Extinction Rebellion committed Scotland Yard at City Airport in the British capital. There, activists had tried to disrupt the operation. A man with a plane ticket had managed to climb onto the roof of a machine while boarding. The head of Scotland Yard, Cressida Dick, criticized this as "reckless, stupid and dangerous". According to British media, the man is a former Paralympic cyclist.
