The Appeals Committee of the National Elections Committee considered during its meeting today, 6 appeals received, on the voting and counting processes and the results of the preliminary list of members of the Federal National Council, during the period of 6 and 7 October, the period specified for the receipt of appeals, according to the schedule of the elections of the Federal National Council 2019 .

The Appeals Committee reported that it had received the six applications from the Electoral Management Committee, where they considered and issued decisions on them, to be submitted to the National Elections Commission, which will hold its next meeting on 13 October 2019, during which the appeals will be answered and the final list of members of the Federal National Council will be announced. Elected during the vote for the 2019 elections.

The appeals received by the Committee are as follows: Two appeals from the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, while one from the Emirate of Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain and Fujairah.

According to the executive instructions of the Federal National Council elections 2019, each candidate has the right to challenge the results of the voting and counting process, using the form adopted by the Emirate Committee to be challenged within 48 hours of the announcement of the preliminary results of the counting, and to be a reasoned and specific appeal about the voting and counting procedures And that the applicant deposited an amount of 3,000 dirhams as a guarantee to the National Elections Commission, where this amount is refunded to the applicant if the decision was issued in his favor.

The executive instructions also stipulate that the National Elections Commission is responsible for responding to all appeals submitted to it in the light of the reports submitted to it by the Appeals Committee.

It is noteworthy that the Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs and as the Secretariat of the National Election Commission is working with the Electoral Management Committee to organize all aspects of the electoral process for the fourth round of the elections of the Federal National Council 2019.
