The general secretary of the PSOE-M, José Manuel Franco, has admitted on Wednesday that he has had several conversations with the mayor of Móstoles, Noelia Posse, following the accumulation of appointments of family and friends, and that he has asked him to resign from her position as governor , to which she refuses.

In statements at Onda Cero, the leader of the Madrid socialists recalled that the party cannot force a mayor or mayor to leave his post, since the councilor's act belongs to the person and not to political formation, so by the moment the PSOE-M is going to ask the Federal Executive of the PSOE to suspend it as a precautionary militancy.

"In the wake of all this scandal I have had several conversations with her and I have told her that it was convenient for her to resign as mayor," Franco acknowledged, who believes that in this way he will be able to defend himself against accusations over the accumulation of appointments he has made .

Franco admits that "in purity he has not committed any illegality", but "aesthetically" those appointments have turned out to be "obscene", and he has not liked him "or the party as a whole" , which has "a guarantee code of ethics, but very demanding".

"The situation was not correct, and the citizens of Móstoles deserved an explanation and a reaction, which is what the Executive of the PSOE-M has had," he continued.

The mayor, however, has responded to Franco that she has not committed any crime and therefore should not resign.

José Manuel Franco has stressed that, in the case of wanting him to leave office, the only way, if he does not resign, is a motion of censure, but has said that "for the moment" the PSOE has not explored that route. "Today he has not committed any crime; whatever happens we will see, we will see what he does and based on that we will be making decisions."
