32-year-old Rua Dawood joined the Social Democrat in 2013 and stood in the party's fifth place when last year she was elected to the municipal council and the environmental committee. But now, one year after the election, she is choosing to leave her political office.

- The reason is that I should get married and move Solna, she says.

How come you were running for municipal council?

- I didn't know I would move then, it was when I got a new job that I also met my guy. And we move together in my guy's apartment in Solna.

"Have good contact with Boel"

What do you think those who voted for you now think when you leave?

- I think they will understand that I cannot keep my place and pretend to live in Södertälje even though I actually live in Solna, says Rua Dawood and continues:

- I will continue to meet the voters here and be active in the association life, I will do my best anyway. I have very good contact with Boel Godner and I do not think you need to sit in the municipal council to influence. All individuals in Södertälje have the opportunity to influence. Sure, it's important to sit in the City Council, but I have no choice but to move now.

Do you regret your candidacy?

- No absolutely not. I have learned a lot of things and I hope to be able to return to Södertälje in the future.
