Her husband came second in the first round of the Tunisian presidential election. He is still in prison after being charged with "money laundering". His wife continues to defend him. She assures him again on Europe 1: "He is incarcerated without any judgment.The least thing would be to leave him to make his campaign [...] Our law says equality of luck".

"This is not a solution for Tunisians, to have a silent campaign like this," says Salwa Smaoui. And to denounce: "The fact that my husband is in prison, it is a treachery to the revolution. [...] Within justice, there are still people who are at the orders of the executive, they did not understand that there was a revolution in Tunisia. "This is the first political prisoner since the 2011 revolution," she laments.

Salwa Smaoui assures him on Europe 1: her husband does not intend to give up, and remains in the race for the presidential one. "We will continue to fight," she says.
