09 October 2019The prosecutor of Palermo asked 4 years for the former prosecutor Antonio Ingroia, on trial, with the abbreviated rite, in front of Gup Maria Cristina Sala, for embezzlement. The accusation is that he appropriated sums not due, during the period in which he was liquidator of the Sicily e-services company, a position he received from the former president of the Sicily Region Rosario Crocetta.

The former magistrate, now a lawyer, in 2013 would have received the indemnity due to the administrator (and not to the liquidator) and for just three months of activity he would have paid the remuneration due for the entire year.

The reply
"I will speak in due time. Everything in its time". Thus the former prosecutor Antonio Ingroia comments on the decision of his former colleagues Pierangelo Padova and Enrico Bologna to ask him for 4 years in prison with the hypothesis of embezzlement.

According to the magistrates, Ingroia would have appropriated the total sum of 117 thousand euros, a part in 2013 as compensation for the result, not due to the liquidator, a position he held at that time, and a part (10 thousand euros) as a lump sum expense reimbursement. Added to this money is another 7,000 euros that were paid for the reimbursement of expenses for hotels. According to the prosecution it was only due to reimbursement for travel and not for accommodation.
