09 October 2019The League's Raffaele Volpi, former Undersecretary of Defense, was elected president of Copasir. He got 6 votes. The white cards were 3, one vote went to Elio Vito of Forza Italia. The election dispelled the "doubts" present within the majority, up until this morning, with respect to the possibility of entrusting the Copasir presidency to a member of the League.

Appointment to the opposition
The assignment is up to a representative of the oppositions by law and yesterday the center-right had closed a unitary agreement which indicated the candidate in the Carroccio deputy. To be elected, Volpi needed 6 votes, or an absolute majority of the Copasir, composed by law of 50% by majority members and 50% by opposition parliamentarians.
