“We will survive without START-3. We are a responsible country, we are predictable. But at the same time, we will find the answer to any attempts to undermine strategic stability between the US and Russia, ”RIA Novosti quoted Antonov as saying.

He noted that Russia is ready to discuss the topic of strategic offensive weapons with the involvement of other countries.

“We would like to see Great Britain and France at the table of any multilateral negotiations,” the ambassador added.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the US counterproductive approach to arms control could destroy the architecture of strategic stability and lead to a new nuclear missile race.

He also noted that due to the uncertainty created by the United States, the future of yet another agreement in the field of nuclear weapons - the Treaty on the Further Reduction and Limitation of Strategic Offensive Arms (START-3), which expires in February 2021, is threatened.
