The Inspectorate for Healthcare and Care, IVO, criticizes the social service in Hedemora for having made several reports of concern at a high level where 23 children risked ill-treatment, reports Kaliber in Sweden's Radio.

Several local politicians have wanted to get an independent investigation into what has been. The Municipal Director sees that a high workload and a reorganization is an explanation.

- In 2015-2016, the municipality of Hedemora received a huge contribution from an unaccompanied refugee child who became the work of the social service. This caused a lot of extra work for the available staff. We tried to hire extra staff and consultants, but as a result it became a heavy workload and managers and employees quit, says Annika Strandh, municipal director in Hedemora.

In the clip, the care committee chairman Owe Ahlinder (C) explains how he wants them to get to the bottom of this.
