House prices in Uppsala County have risen by 6.0 per cent in July to September, which is the largest increase in the country.

This shows new figures from Swedish real estate statistics, compiled by Länsförsäkringar real estate agency.

- What we have seen, if we reverse the clock at one year, is that we had a very high market with redundancy in new productions. Now that the market is getting stronger again, the villas have not lost as much but are at a more even price level, says Peter Jakobsson, real estate broker at Länsförsäkringar in Uppsala.

As tenant-owner prices have risen, home buyers have also become more capital-rich, as they made a profit when they sold their tenants, explains Peter Jakobsson.

Other important factors behind the rise in prices are the county's relatively small housing stock in the market, historically low interest rates, and high employment in the county.

Most of the house prices have risen in Älvkarleby, with a full 14.0 percent.
