Nearly 400 students attended the theme day, which was about democracy and the opportunity to influence. The students got to meet politicians and the day ended with the students writing concrete proposals, motions, which in April next year will be taken up to the youth debate in the council and can then become reality.

- I write that there should be more buses between Loftahammar and Västervik, says Klara Jonsson, who was one of the students who participated.

Will you continue to write exercises in the future?

- If I come up with something else then maybe.

Unique opportunity for young people

It is for the fourth year in a row that such a day is being organized by the high school together with the municipal council's democracy preparation and the politicians hope to inspire young people to make their voice heard.

- The model we have in Västervik, where you really write motions that are dealt with by the municipality, debate with the politicians in the Municipal Council and can make a decision is unique, says Sverker Thorén (L), chair of the municipal council and the democracy committee.

In the clip above you can hear more voices from exercise day.
