The forces of the Libyan National Accord government announced that they repulsed an attack by the forces of retired Major General Khalifa Hifter south of Tripoli, and extracted from them new positions, killing and capturing more than thirty of its members after violent clashes.

More than two dozen fighters were killed and nine others were killed in the clashes, including two in Azizaia, southwest of Tripoli, and Ain Zara, south of the capital.

The media center for the volcano of anger operation in his account on Facebook that the forces of reconciliation government thwarted an attempt to infiltrate into the Azizia area carried out by forces including mercenaries belonging to the Russian security company Wagner.

The center added that after thwarting the infiltration attempt, Al-Wefaq forces are now in full control of Al-Azizia area up to Al-Sabiah area.

The Aziziyah area witnessed yesterday violent clashes after Hifter's forces attempted to circumvent Al-Wefaq forces, which repelled the attack and captured nine gunmen and seized military vehicles, including an Emirati armored vehicle.

In the Ain Zara axis, al-Wefaq forces launched an attack yesterday on Hifter's positions, forcing the latter to leave their advanced positions on this axis, according to Operation Volcano Anger sources.

Libyan sites published pictures showing what they said were armored vehicles seized by al-Wefaq forces and others that destroyed Hifter's gunmen. Clashes south of Tripoli continued for several hours with various types of weapons, including heavy artillery.

Meanwhile, a doctor was killed and three paramedics were injured in a raid carried out by a Hifter march in al-Tuwaisha area south of the capital, according to Libyan websites.

Since April 4, Hifter's forces have launched an offensive to control Tripoli, but have so far failed to achieve their goal.
