With her victory in Beijing at the expense of world No.1, Ashleigh Barty, Japan's Naomi Osaka moved to third place in the WTA rankings released on Monday.
The Australian has however increased her lead over her Czech Karolina Pliskova, eliminated from entry into the Chinese capital and is now 1081 points Barty.
The progression of a place in Osaka is to the detriment of the Ukrainian Elina Svitolina, quarter-finalist in Beijing, who falls one rank.
Finally, the Canadian revelation Bianca Andreescu, beaten in quarters by Osaka last week, hangs the Top 5 of Romania's Simona Halep.
For French women, it's the status quo. Caroline Garcia remains 31st and Kristina Mladenovic, 46th.
