French gymnasts failed to secure a team ticket for the 2020 Olympic Games in qualifying at the World Championships on Sunday and Monday in Stuttgart, Germany.

This is the first time since the 1992 Olympics that the Blues will not have a committed team on the Olympic scene.

Some of them, however, can still hope to get their individual qualification for Tokyo during the German competition.

On Sunday, Samir Ait-Said, Cyril Tommasone, Loris Frasca, Antoine Borello and Julien Saleur totaled 245.137. Even before the last group in qualifying on Monday in the early evening, they were ejected from the nine best nations, excluding China, Russia and Japan, already qualified for their world medal won in the team competition in 2018. They occupy the thirteenth provisional place.

Nevertheless, Frasca could receive an Olympic sesame Monday night at the end of the qualifications, via the open competition. And Aït-Saïd, with the rings (14,700), and Tommasone, with the pommels, via the apparatus finals next weekend, that they are for the moment in position to rally.

The Blue, worn by Melanie De Jesus Dos Santos, they got their ticket Saturday. And will compete in the team final Tuesday, with the ambition to climb the podium.
