The US government has officially announced that ministerial trade negotiations with China will take place in Washington this month. In the discussion, not only agricultural products but also a wide range of fields such as correction of infringement of intellectual property rights by China are targeted, and it is a situation where negotiations are progressing or unpredictable.

The US and China governments, which continue to respond to tariff increases, began deputy-level discussions in Washington on the 7th.

In line with this, the White House has officially announced that it will start on the 10th on the date of the ministerial trade negotiations for the first time in about two months. Deputy Prime Minister Liu Tsuru and others will attend.

As for the agenda of the consultation, it was made clear that it covers not only agricultural products, but also a wide range of fields such as infringement of intellectual property rights by China and correction of forced transfer of technology.

Recently, China has shown a compromise, such as increasing imports of American soybeans, and there is a view that there is progress in negotiations that prioritize partial agreements.

However, there are strong opinions from the US government and Parliamentarians of the Parliament that China should aim for a comprehensive conclusion as well as the field of agricultural products, and it is unpredictable whether it will actually progress.
